Background
Universal Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance. The successful candidate will support the continued establishment and delivery of UTAMU’s mission and core values in the Business School.
Job Purpose
To teach, conduct research, and provide academic leadership in the areas of accounting and finance while contributing to the development of students and the growth of the Business School.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning in accounting, finance, and related business courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Develop course outlines, teaching materials, and assessment tools in line with university standards.
- Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects and dissertations.
- Participate in curriculum development and review.
- Engage in community outreach, consultancy, and professional engagement.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Contribute to the academic development and mentorship of students.

Minimum Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification from a recognized professional body.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or BBA (accounting and finance).
- Evidence of teaching or training experience at university level or a tertiary institution will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated research potential and ability to supervise students’ research projects.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to integrate theory with practical business applications.
- Research and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
