Role Description The Roving Consultant – Climate Resilience and Finance is a part-time, hybrid role based This role focuses on advising clients on integrating climate resilience into financial planning, investment strategies, and development programs across various sectors. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting financial and climate risk analyses, developing climate-resilient financing models, and supporting the design and implementation of climate-related projects. The consultant will prepare and present reports, briefs, and recommendations to clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical advisory support and capacity building to partner organizations. The role also involves frequent field visits, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to strategic roadmaps that align climate resilience objectives with sustainable development and financial viability. Qualifications Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis. Demonstrated analytical skills to assess climate risks, financial data, and development outcomes, and to translate findings into actionable insights. Consulting experience, preferably in development, climate resilience, or impact finance, with the ability to manage engagements and stakeholder relationships. Fundamental accounting knowledge to interpret financial statements and support sound financial decision-making. Experience or strong interest in climate resilience, sustainable finance, or environmental economics. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage. Ability to work on-site, travel as needed, and operate effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards in fast-paced environments. Experience working in African development contexts or with international development partners is an added advantage.
