Senior Lecturer (Political Science) job at Mountains of the Moon University

Job Purpose:

To provide academic and administrative leadership in Political Science through high-quality teaching, research, innovation, supervision, mentorship and stakeholder engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership in teaching, research, innovation, curriculum development, and knowledge transfer.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in relevant disciplines.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students.
• Conduct high-impact research and publish in reputable journals.
• Prepare and secure competitive research grants.
• Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and related forums, including policy briefs to Government.
• Build research Teams for collaborative engagements with Partners, Government, Industry, NGOs, and Communities.
• Participate in academic administration and administrative functions of the University (Planning, Budgeting, Representation on Statutory Committees, strategic initiatives, and supervision of project staff).
• Perform any other official duties assigned

Person Specifications:

a) Qualifications

1. a) PhD in Political Science from a recognized awarding institution.
   1. Master of Arts; Arts Social Sciences, or Public Administration, from a recognized awarding institution.
   2. Bachelor of Arts Social Sciences (Political Science option) or Public Administration (Political Science option) with a First Class or Second-Class Upper Division, from a recognized awarding Institution.

Experience

1. Should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience, two (2) of which should have been at the level of Lecturer in a Higher Institution of L
2. Should have at least three (3) new publications in the area of specialization, as the first author or corresponding author within the last five (5) years.

• Should have supervised at least three (3) Graduate students to completion.
