Diesel Generator Mechanic

Reporting To Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, The Successful Candidate Will;

Key Result Areas:

1. Carry out preventive, mechanical and breakdown repairs on Electrical Power Generators.
2. Service Generators regularly following a schedule set by the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
3. Carry out corrective maintenance on Electrical Power Generators
4. Advice Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor on required spare parts.
5. Keep mechanical tools and equipment allocated under safe custody.
6. Modifying some auto parts where/when required.
7. Any other duties assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor / Head of Engineering services

 EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. A diploma in Auto Mechanics or an equivalent is desirable.
2. 3 years of relevant experience is required

SKILLS & PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

1. Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
2. Effective Verbal and written communication.
3. Basic knowledge for troubleshooting, repairing and servicing vehicles/ engines.
4. Professional personal presentation.
5. Customer service orientation skills.
6. Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence.
7. Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions.
8. Decision making skills is required.
9. Working in a safe and efficient manner, including managing good housekeeping and adhering to company safety policy.
