Join our team to provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programmes/projects within the Country Programme, from development planning to delivery of results. In doing so, you will implement a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities: 

  1. Support to programme development and planning: Support the design and management of nutrition initiatives through situation analysis, research, and documentation for effective planning and review.
  2. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results: Collaborate with teams and partners to oversee and evaluate projects, ensure compliance, resolve issues, and deliver timely reports to stakeholders.
  3. Technical and operational support to programme implementation: Conduct field visits, provide guidance to partners, address challenges, and ensure successful implementation of nutrition programs.
  4. Networking and partnership building: Foster strong relationships with government, UN agencies, and donors, draft advocacy materials, and contribute to resource mobilization and inter-agency initiatives.
  5. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building: Capture and share best practices, apply innovative solutions, and participate in training to strengthen stakeholder capabilities and project outcomes.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required:  nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care.
  • Skills: Programming planning, Programme implementation, Programme evaluation, Programme reporting, Technical support, Partnerships.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:

  1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  2. Previous experience with Stakeholder Coordination, Field Visit Monitoring, Analytic skills, Programme project development.
  3. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
