US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)

Welcome to the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to deliver targeted, evidence-based, and comprehensive HIV/AIDS services. This initiative is dedicated to making significant contributions to HIV/AIDS epidemic control, aligning with the ambitious 95-95-95 targets set for the year 2030. The MUWRP PEPFAR program operates across strategic regions in Uganda, including Kayunga, Mukono, Buikwe, Buvuma, and Kampala, as outlined in the National HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan 2020/21 – 2024/25.

Managed as the prime awardee, MUWRP spearheads the PEPFAR program, generously funded through the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). The program is strategically crafted to forge sustainable, robust partnerships and collaborations for the delivery of HIV/AIDS services. Its overarching goal is to enhance governance capacity and provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS services across designated regions, contributing significantly to the attainment of HIV epidemic control.

The program’s approach is anchored in three key technical pillars: Accountability, Transparency, and Impact. These pillars serve as the foundation for ensuring efficiency in service delivery, underlining PEPFAR’s commitment to not only meet but exceed the expectations outlined in the National HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan. Welcome to a program that stands at the forefront of the global fight against HIV/AIDS, dedicated to making a lasting impact through strategic and evidence-based interventions.
