Uganda Government Announces Recruitment of 6,853 Workers Across Ministries and Local Governments

The Government of Uganda has announced a major recruitment drive to fill 6,853 vacant positions in various ministries, departments, agencies (MDAs), and local governments for the 2025/2026 financial year. The initiative aims to strengthen staffing in key services including health, education, agriculture extension, and local administration.

Minister of Public Service Wilson Muruli Mukasa emphasised that the recruitment efforts will focus on merit and professionalism, with strict warnings against bribery and corruption during the selection process. Priority areas include Primary Schools, Primary Health Care facilities, Agriculture Extension roles, Parish Chiefs, and Town Agents.

This large-scale recruitment push is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve service delivery across Uganda.
